Turn to Jesus

We call out to you, Lord Jesus Christ!

Think about the millions and millions of people who have called out to Jesus: the men and women beside the dusty road when Jesus walked this earth; all the Saints throughout the ages; the countless ones who were [or are] sick or dying, the desperate and the lonely. Imagine yourself in such a crowd.

Take a moment to choose one or two of the following scriptural titles of Jesus. Now stretch out your hands to Jesus. Reach out to him from the crowd. Speak these names out loud. Use as many of these names as you need.

As you complete your time with Jesus, thank God for hearing you by praying this psalm:

For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. (Psalm 62:5-6) Amen.

Another version of this prayer exercise is available as a blog called “Jesus Dispels Worry and Darkness.”
